    see how you go in the 18. i haven't seen any issues with it on the 17 with the latest drivers.

    I have installed Windows 10 on the 18 and will run on Intel HD Graphics for a day or two. If nothing goes wrong I will switch to 780M SLI and see what happens.

    Yup, just downloaded some new drivers for my 17 R1. Bios was unchanged as was all the Alienware software, but, there was new drivers for Nvidia, Intel, the touchpad, network (bluetooth, wifi, LAN) and audio.

    @rjtnag try this, follow to the letter...

    1- Uninstall Creative software under Programs & Features -> Device manager -> Uninstall Sound Blaster Recon3Di -> check delete the driver software for this device -> reboot.
    2- Download/Install latest Dell/AW Creative driver package http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=4T7P8 -> Extract w/ 7-Zip.
    2.1- Select "custom install" -> Install SB Control Panel only, deselect the other options -> exit without reboot.

    3- Under services -> right click "Creative Audio service" Stop service -> Properties Startup type: Disabled

    4- Download Recon3Di_v6.0.100.2056_Win10 -> extract -> -> Device manager -> Use have disk method -> browse "Recon3DI_v6.0.100.2056_Win10" -> install using ctHda.inf

    @j95
    sorry to bother, but i am having a major issue

    whenever i uninstall and delete drivers for SoundBlaster Recon3Di
    my laptop just fails to reboot
    first i thought it was a coincidence with bad drivers for windows 10
    luckily i has a system restore, i restored it before the driver removal
    i again deleted it
    again no boot, gets till windows 10 logo and loading then black screen
    sometimes doesnt even load bios too
    what surprises me is that removing an audio driver causes blank screen!

    not sure what to do now

    @j95
    hold on
    somehow i got it to work
    i just did the step 4
    now my aux is working!

    but now regarding the black screen, its happening again
    with normal sound drivers
    what i have worked out that my pin input is still working
    i put my passwor and hit enter(with black screen), it logs in and screen again appears
    really wierd!
    is there any fix?
    can i remove login screen on windows 10?

    Yes, that's the driver Windows Update installs for me and doesn't work properly. The driver I manually installed was the latest 1 from the Dell website. The Dell driver works great unfortunately untill I restart when the newer 1 auto installs, despite turning that off in Windows update :(.

    Alientouch for example doesn't work either under the Windows driver.

    Also has anyone got on screen display to work? I installed 2 different versions, neither work.

    note i am running an M17X R4: i have gotten the OSD to somewhat work. now in NONE of the versions i have installed have i gotten the volume (up, down, mute), screen brightness, wireless or the eject button to pop up the images, and i have not gotten the battery (Fn+F2) or the alien command center button to work, i dont know if the battery button ever worked but i know its not doing anything i can tell at this point. if anyone can help me with these then let me know.

    now as for the buttons that show the images (webcam, touchpad, possibly hdmi) i have gotten it to work out of the box with the windows 7 version. installing the 8 or 8.1 they do not show the images but they do still work and setting compatibility mode to windows 7 brings back the images for those that i said do work.

    all the buttons will work but the volume seems to take longer to go up and down (i think it might have done steps of 5 but now is steps of 2). i have also tried to use the OSD from the alienware 17 (i think R1) but be warned, i was UNABLE to uninstall that. it kept throwing an error about already having a user or service by that name while uninstalling and then failing which prevented me from installing any older versions as they all said a newer version was found. i had to do a system rollback to get rid of the driver and reinstall the other drivers.

    if anyone else has any ideas on how to get the full functionality back please post some ideas and ill try to do something but i think its related to windows capturing the keypresses before the OSD application can.

    After two days on Windows 10 i started noticing something annoying, when opening a game and any game my computer makes this static noise when opening it. I've tried reinstalling sound and nvidia drivers to no avail.

    OSD did not work in Windows 8 or 8.1 either. It still works the same way in Windows 10 (with 8.1 drivers) - you see Windows default images when changing volume/brightness etc rather than the pictures like it used to be on Windows 7. Alien Command Centre W8 driver works fine on Windows 10. @Benjaminf, what do you mean by Alientouch? If you mean the program itself, it will work with Windows 8 driver:
