    Hi,

So, I got my new m17xR3 today. Went ahead and created my respawn discs, removed the RAID0 config and now when I try and installed windows from the installation disc i got from dell it's failing at the "Completing installion" part with the error "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware."

Any idea's how to get this installed?

Probably a daft question but I take it you edited the BIOS so that it runs in AHCI?

You have to change it back to raid 0 but do not pair the hdd. Leave them as they are and it will work... However, you get better speed in raid 0 than the AHCI

*faceplam* I'm an idiot. I realised this at 3am when I woke up and went "I'VE GOT IT!" and went back to sleep. Thanks!

How do I axactly keep it as RAID0... but not paired? Theres a reason I got rid of RAID0...

After I switched it to run AHCI...can I just switch it back to Raid0 after fresh install?

You will need to load the RAID drivers during install if you install in RAID mode.

This the message I get at the very end of install "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware"
I currently have the computer wiped clean right now.
I'm not sure if this question has already been answered but sorry I'm a newbie. How would I go about installing the RAID drivers during Win7 install? If I could get the instructions for that I think that would solve my problems.

go to the R3 driver page

    Drivers & Downloads

Download the Intel driver, extract the files (run the exe and then browse to where the files were extracted to), go to the f6flpy-x64 folder, copy all files to a USB disk

Run windows setup, when it gets to the bit where you partition drives etc, select the load driver option and read the files from your USB.

    Then your all good.

Yup, load the drivers, had the same problems myself, and I just got the drivers and everything worked fine.
