    Hey guys,

I did my best to search and read all the threads that already talk about this issue, but I couldn't find a solution to my problem!

I just installed Windows 8 (x64) on my M17x R1, and I have to install drivers for my SLI Nvidia GTX 285M (They were 280M before I upgraded their firmware). I tried every single modified INF file I found, most of them on this forum and others from LaptopVideo2Go. Every time I uninstalled a driver I cleaned my registry (CCleaner) in safe mode then restarted, then tried another driver. None of them worked. When I modify the installer, I'm able to start installing them. Sometimes it finishes, but Nvidia control pannel doesn't detect any graphic card. Most of the time I get a "Could not be installed" error (everything is red in the list), but the resolution would change to the highest one 1920x1200. But still: no correct installation of my drivers.

What should I do to get these drivers installed finally?

I've heard this issue stems from a driver enforcement issue that Windows 8 has. I have a 680M in my R2 that I can't seem to get the drivers installed on. This is what I've read to do to resolve it, but hasn't really helped for me but haven't spent much time on it.

    1) Open command prompt (Admin) windows key + X
    2) Type "bcdedit /set {current} testsigning yes" (without quotes) enter.
    3) Type exit and reboot.
    4) Install
    5) Repeat/replace with "bcdedit /set {current} testsigning no" reboot.

Thanks for your answer grey_hammer777 :)

Unfortunately I already did this before, it installed the driver, but it didn't work correctly. I mean, I had the Nvidia Control Pannel but it said that there is no known graphic card on my laptop...

    Actually, I'm back to Windows 7 :/

Yes, that was my experience as well and I've reverted back to Windows 7 too. I'm continuing to research this, hopefully someone else can shed some light on this.
