I managed to fix this issue once, but since re-installing 8.1 the issue is back and I cannot remember how to fix this. I have installed every Radeon driver I can find, disabled the Intel card, etc. Nothing seems to work. I know it's a video card driver issue, just don't remember how to fix it.

    Any help?

Does it also happen with the DELL provided drivers?
What m17x revision do you have?

Yes it does happen even with the Dell drivers. And with the Dell intel drivers all I get is a white screen, nothing else. Downloaded them from the website and the issue continues. I have a M17x R3. I swear I was able to fix this easily the last time, but I don't remember the solution.

Just tried disabling the intel card again. Worked for a few minutes, but then white screen.. Hard to hard reboot.

Ok, so I just checked. Windows, no matter how many times I try does not let me update the driver. I downloaded and installed the latest beta drivers, rebooted, and windows still shows the old ones! This must have been the issue with the other drivers as well. If I try to manually install it says the "windows determined the best drivers are already installed."

If I uninstall the drivers, I get a blank screen and have to reboot. At that point it just installs the same crappy drivers again. Getting really annoyed with this.

This is the very same reason I wont touch windows 8 - it's too locked down. Microsoft have got progressively worse with this in there OS's now we have windows 8 which insists on installing drivers it has built in or from windows update even though they are not properly compatible with certain types of hardware.
Try to use Driver Fusion to remove all the AMD/ATI Drivers with the internet disconnected and then reinstall the correct ones. Once they are on get back onto the internet and go onto windows update and then hide any display drivers which are offered there.

Windows 7 has this exact feature and the problem with windows 8 isn't that it's locked down it's that it has pointless settings like those enabled by default to be more "user friendly"

    Hi JesterDev,

Make sure you have the latest BIOS installed, click here to download it.

Follow the steps in this article to uninstall the video driver, and try installing the latest drivers in the Nvidia website again.
