Man that sucks to have problems right when you get it :( :(

    Stole this from another forum:

According to your error message, the problem is probably caused by hard drive settings in bios or DVD drive or bad SATA cabling. Please perform the following steps to narrow downs cause of the issue.

    1. Make sure that all laptops the same hardware, same manufacturer and same model.

    2. Upgrade the BIOS to the latest version; go into the BIOS and activate "Load Fail-Safe Defaults".

    3. If you connect the SATA drives, please set the SATA controller to compatible mode in BIOS.

    THE RESPONSE:

I change in the BIOS the SATA mode AHCI to ATA and it fix the problem. I read the difference between AHCI and ATA and it seem to be very minus for laptop.

No idea if this works or applies since I haven't got mine... but I hope it helps.

This doesn't seem to apply to 1 and 2 because RAID0 was working before with the factory install.

For 3 it also doesn't apply because both ACHI (AHCI?) and ATA do not support Raid0, which would leave me to installing windows on a single (slower) drive. I REALLY doubt the SATA cabling is bad because it fully installs before "completing installation". It also burned backup disks with respawn (just in case I want factory install) without a hitch earlier today.

Same thing happened to me when I wiped all the partitions. I set to to AHCI and it worked fine after (I didn't want RAID).

Yeah; I'm trying to save this as absolute last resort. Really wanted RAID.

Ugh. Tried 5-6 different solutions now and can't get a single one to work. Went to AHCI and I'm installing on a single HDD. This was going to be temporary anyway (Was going to get a SATA III SSD a few months down the road) but still this is disappointing.

    Do both drives work individually?

70% install on the single HDD now. I'll let you know. Both are recognized in the install list at least. I'm just baffled as to how they got the factory install on Raid0 that worked fine without issue but I can't get mine to go on at all.

Is there a possible RAID driver I have to install first? I know there is a driver select button.

have you ever installed windows 7 on raid array before?

I haven't, so I'm not sure, but there's probably something specific that you need to do?

I have multiple times.. I just can't remember what I did or if I installed a specific driver to get it to work. I DO know I never had this could not configure to my hardware stuff. Its been about a year since I've installed to raid0.

Saw you emailed me but never got the email. Found it myself!

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...+RST)&lang=eng]INTEL Rapid Storage Technology

Stick that on a thumb drive and install before windows in the driver select menu. Says it isn't needed for Win7 but it is!

I am having this same problem with my m17x R2. My question is how do you install .exe drivers that you download from that link through windows 7 installation? What is the "driver select menu?" The only thing i see is the load drivers button for them but how to install drivers through a .exe installation through that? How do I install them before installing windows?
