I'm having an issue with my brand new R3 and upgrading the wireless card.

I uninstalled the 1501 card that came with the R3, and installed a new 6300. Everything snaps into place and all three of the wires are connected firmly. I reassembly the chassis and power up. No wireless card recognized. I install driver after driver (Dell, Intel, even previous revisions), nothing recognizes the card. Great. Uninstall the chassis to check the seating. Everything is fine, but just for good measure, I reseat anyway. Reassembly. Power up. No card. I run an ethernet cable to the laptop and LAN connectivity fires right up, as does internet access. So again, tried reinstalling drivers. Disconnected the LAN. No wireless card found.

At this point, we're going to go with good, old fashioned "process of elimination". I disassemble the chassis (I'm a master at this point) and reseat the card; only this time, I do NOT reassemble, but simply make sure that the laptop is grounded and power it up. Card is recognized right away. Great! Problem solved, right? So I shut down, disconnect the power and reassemble. Power up. No. Freaking. Card (are you F'N kidding me?!?). Disassembly (A G A I N). Reseat. Power On. Card Recognized. Power Off. Reassembly. Power On. NO. FREAKING. CARD.

At this point, I'm recognizing the common denominator; reassembly. Now I know that I'm not over torquing anything and that the seating is just fine. But for some obnoxious reason, any time that the card is seated when fully assembled, it is not recognized upon booting up.

I'm at a bit of a loss here and just being receptive to any suggestions...

I feel for you mate, I would hate to have this problem, it just sucks big time

did you put the old card back in to make sure nothing has changed

maybe one of the cables is grounding or pinched somewhere when you reassemble - the only thing i can think of
