Hey all I will be receiving my M17x R4 today (crossing fingers!) and I am really excited about the Wireless HD capabilities. I was hoping you all could help me figure out what I needed to buy for this to work right...

    Is this the right piece?

VIZIO XWH200 Universal Wireless HD Video & Audio Kit Video/audio extender - External

With this I just hook the receiver into the TV and the m17x has a built in transmitter right?

Did you configure your laptop with the wirelesshd module? Because it doesn't come as standard.

No, I believe it was always an add-on rather than standard. As far as WiDi I'm not sure how it works but I do know you need to be using an Intel wireless card in your M17x for it to work.

That YouTube video is of WiHD, intel network cards should come with WiDi but the quality and latency is lacking. I don't have any experience with WiDi unfortunately, only WiHD. Sorry

As far as WiHD is there a chip I can buy and install into my r4 for internal transmitting? I don't really want to have an external transmitter if I don't need it! I've been looking around and can't find one for the m17x r4.

Should be, try and get the part number from Dell.
