Today while I was starting Windows, the computer went after the windows loading screen to a blank one. This repeatred several times. Not knowing, what the issue is, I pressed F8 and went to last working settings. After that the wireless connection is not working. Despite my best attempts, the card is not enabling. It is permanently grayed out. Please help!

Sounds like your wifi card is bad, try to replug it in and see if it helps. :( If not call Dell and get them to send one out. ;) You can find out how to replace it go to You Tube..m17x tear down video. Very easy to do. If your not under warranty check ebay or Amazon very cheap to get. If you have the Dell card think about upgrading to the N6300 intel card the 3 wire is already there for it.
