I am looking at getting a new wireless router for my M17x R3 and I am wondering what would be some of the best ones out there. I have been looking at the Apple Airport Extreme. Any other suggestions?

1. Cisco Valet Plus M20
2. D-link DIR 825 (dual-band) or 655
3. Airport Extreme Base Station -
I am running a BUFFALO WZR-HP-G300NH right now flashed with DD-WRT.
Very solid, but I only run 3-4 devices wireless(cell phones and a 2 laptops), everything is hardwired if I can.
I think Dual Bands would be an option I look for in my next wireless upgrade.
Depending on your budget and what other wireless traffic you have.
If most you devices are wireless, I would grab something with more Antennas...
Take a look at some of the newegg feed back: -
I'm using the Linksys E3000 and Intel 6300 chip and I'm getting 144mbps through 3 walls. That's about half of the advertised speed, which is normal because my network is running in mixed-mode so the speed is halved. Essentially I'm getting the best possible connection because of the slower devices in the house.
E3000 is simultaneous dual band, you'll definitely want a router with simultaneous dual band if you want your 2.4ghz and 5ghz devices in the same house. The only issue with consumer routers is that you'll never see the fabled 300 mbps unless your network is exclusive to those devices, the best you'll get is half with a mix of devices.
Oh yes, the router. I love it. Had an old Trendnet that wouldn't allow me and my brother to connect to the same Left4Dead 2 session. No such issues here. -
I have the Buffalo mentioned previously as well. It's a rock solid unit and has some of the best range available right now. Comes with DD-WRT out of the box too. Check out smallnetbuilder.com. They have a review on it, as well as tons of other routers to consider.
