What should I be seeing for FPS in World of Warchraft based on the specs below. I set everything to ultra and am a high of 80 but it gets down to the low 30s at times and this is when there isn't a lot going on on the screen. Just curious what others peoples experiences have been.

While I have the 460(3d off) and not the 6970, my FPS is better then that. With everything set on ultra and my res at 1080. I get as high as 150 in the cities and as low as 50FPs when around busy times.

The 6970 should give you better numbers then that. Not sure what you can do to the 6970 to get it to work better, maybe update the catalyst.

Well, that all depends on how you are playing it. If you are playing in windowed mode, then those numbers are good. I would get down to 30's only in the cities. Also, are you playing in DirectX 11? This could help some. There is a way to do that by adding a command line http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...rcraft-cataclysm-m17x-r1-r2-discussion-6.html. Other then that make sure you are running ATI CAPS and updated drivers.

If the 460m can handle Ultra 60FPS with vsync off/shadows medium and windowed-full screen, then the 6970 will have no problems at all :)

Remember, the key to increasing your FPS exponentially is to play in full screen-windowed.

I think I have shadows on high. Maybe that is it.

Nar there must be something up with your drivers or something running in the background that's driving it down. The 6970m shouldn't go down that low on WoW from what i've read.
