I'm just floored by the performance of this laptop in all honesty. It's incredibly powerful even with the rather dated and aged components within its confines. The 920XM is still crazy fast, the 6970M is just as ridiculously quick, after posting it boots in ~15 seconds... o.o

Now that I'm experiencing the 6970M for myself, it seems almost disturbing that a laptop GPU could be THIS powerful. I understand that it's not that fast when compared to the desktop counterpart that it's based on, I.E. the 6850, but it's well beyond a GTX 470 after overclocking it as is! Then to go and create another GPU that's literally a 100% increase in performance over THIS one just makes my mind implode. @_@

Sorry for the little rave here, I just find it hard to believe that laptops are as powerful as they are. I guess a lot HAS happened in the past year and a half... which is funny because the only component in this laptop that could be considered "recent" is the 6970M.

If I'm floored by how fast the 920XM is, I'm pretty sure I'd never leave my laptop's side ever again if I had an Ivy CPU in it. :p

I'm kinda alternating between these, in no real order, at the moment in class......and have been since I got it working last night... >///>

Makes me wish I still had my 6990's :p I sold them to get dual 7970s, and then got an amazing deal on an M17x R4. Which now I'm thinking I don't want and may trade for a desktop or sell for a desktop. Still need to get daul 7970s for my R2 and return it to it's full glory! :D

Great to hear imglidinhere, I felt exactly the same when I first got mine... and that hasn't changed. Enjoy it! :D

Just curious, what was it that fixed your suspended mode conundrum? I was hoping that you'd get it sorted and am very happy for you that you did.

I think at some point the 940XM will be your bottleneck which is why I won't jump to buy 7970's to 580M SLI.

It is a beast and a half :) And it is good to know that there are upgrade options available in the future! A rarity in a laptop!
