Just opened up my first Alienware that arrived today !
HOLY !!!!! WOW ! I LOVE this beast?!?!?!!!!!!
Sorry... Simply needed to share, and trust me.. girl I am dating does not share my enthusiasm !! (Even waited an extra 10 min for her to arrive prior to unboxing, whereas she was somewhat embarresed to just be around me and my huge grin while putting on Alienware hat)
How the heck am I supposed to wait for a few days to get started on this thing while waiting for my Win 7 ultimate disc.. (Dell installed Home Prem by mistake, and in Norwegian to make it even worse and more annoying when auto creating folders)
Btw, I realize ssd will run significantly faster, but is it normal to score only 5,5 in WEI with a couple 7200 drives running in Raid 0?
Anyways, what matters now is this beauty ! Love it ! With a passion.. Hope everyone is having as good of a day as I am..![]()

Well Sverre you could just go ahead and use it if the disc supplied has a CD key that you can use to upgrade, unless as the other person in your thread states it'd activate automatically requiring a fresh install probs. What I'd do is call them and ask if you can upgrade to ultimate via windows anytime upgrade with the ultimate code and if they say you can then just use your laptop as it is and when ultimate comes you won't lose anything you did in the mean time. If on the otherhand you have to clean install then sorry you'll have to wait
just give them a call and ask them what's best gets you done in a few minutes and hey they're paid for it.

Problem though is how things gets a little messed up cause of folder names.. Program files folder is in Norw version called programfiler, and so on.. Drivers need to be downloaded for specific OS versions and such.. this would not be a prob though, except home premium does not allow for language changes.. only ultimate and business version
But I may do a fresh install anyways to get completely rid of this Norw install.. it is frustrating as heckAnd then I will indulge into the links you were so kind to post for me in another thread !

Alrighty! Sounds like a plan
. With the ultimate upgrade you should be able to change the install language to English or so once upgraded so keep that in mind
either way you'll be sorted. Congrats on your new machine! Even if the girlfriend isn't so excited haha, mine isn't terribly excited with my talk of it either!

Here's mine for reference too. But it really doesn't mean much till you do 3D Mark tests.

Congrats, Great new Toy
Don't have a screen shot but I get 5.9 for the HDD, about the same as Jubbing's score. So you probably don't have to worry. -

Congrats on your new purchase!

I just love how amazing it is to have this rgb led next to my old m1730... Seeing them simultaneously really make you appreciate the colors and vividness of the screen. !!

Congrats on getting your new system. But to answer your question, yes it's normal that a 7200RPM RAID 0 setup only gets a 5.9 5.9 is the highest that a mechanical HDD can get. Anything higher is reserved for an SSD.
-
Grats on the new system! 5.9 is normal, I get that on my Raid 0 set up as well.
Your scores should be something like:
CPU-7.1
Memory-7.5
Graphics-7.2
Desktop Graphics-7.2
HDD-5.9
Benchmarks matter more than the WEI
Wow !!!!!
