Hi i just bought a gtx680m from ebay, But the card they sent me after having a hard time figuring it out and installing is a dell quadro k5000M..

Installed it on my m17x4 performance is sluggish , clocks are stuck at 324 running unigine.

I am new to ebay is it possible to seek for a refund? Thank you

I'd sell it too and probably get like two 680Ms. Haha! :p

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I also feel like selling but the core clock seems stuck at 324 on geforce or quadro drivers on my m17xr4 lol so i guess a refund sounds more attractive.

I also feel like flashing the card to a gtx680m but if it fails, there goes my 600 usd.

Anyone tried flashing the vbios to gtx680m before on quadro?

The clocks may be screwy due to the lack of driver support for that card. As stated earlier that card is easily worth 2X more than the GTX680M, unfortunately you would need the right buyer for such a card considering its more for commercial use.

Hi mikecacho yeah I guess you are right. I cant wait forever for a buyer. I only want to play games in peace rather than always thinking of what bios or drivers to make it work. Massive headache.

I think I will just call them up for a refund. Thanks everyone.

Can you post a GPU-Z screenshot? Might be an ES card if you have clock issues.

You can ask for a refund with the Buyer's Protection but as my friends state above that card is worth more than the 680m :p

That's a very early vbios, but I'd still expect it to clock properly. Anyways, it might still work with an OEM version of the vbios.

Hi guys, i just flashed this card to stock dell gtx680m bios. Everything is working good and gaming except i still see it as quadro k5000m in gpu -z and in nvidia control panel i got some quadro functions which i am totally clueless.

Is there any way to force this card to turn into a gtx680m so i can install the latest drivers with more ease? This is a screenshot after i flashed to a stock dell gtx680m bios.

Well, then you're on lucky soul, cause the Dell 680m has a different board Id... it's likely to cause serious issues when flashing a vbios of a different board without tweaking it a bit.
Anyway, since you got it working... uninstall all Nvidia drivers completely, reboot, and then install the GeForce drivers.

Do you happen to have a pic of your card?

Hi svl7, nope i forgot to take a pic of the card but it looks exactly the same as the dell gtx680m 2gb. Green pcb and ram chips on the bottom. On the chip is written this.

Here is a simple benchmark on unigine stock clocks didn't oc yet still messing around with the geforce drivers with some quadro options lol.

Temps are pretty cool , idling around 40 and full load 70 degree.

Question is should i keep or sell? If i want to sell can i flash back to a quadro bios?

As Svl7 stated you got lucky on a successful flash, but then again it could of been nodded prior to you receiving the card since it was advertised as 680m. IMO the card might be more appealing as a 680m flash. You could flash back but it's very risky, you might brick the card, do some research and see if you can find others who were/are in your situations.

Hihi yeah but if there is someone willing to buy, i don't even know if the quadro features will work or not on a flashed gtx680m bios. I have never dealt with such cards and it functionality before totally newb at this. And yes i might pass out and consume a dozen of pills if the flash fail lol.

Honestly I have never seen a flashed K series to a GTX, considering the 1600$ price tag scares off most ppl from even considering it, even with all research lined up. If you do flash back and advertise the card as a quadro K5000m, on eBay (considering there are non for sale) you should get some interested bid wars if the price is started right (assuming this is a true genuine K5000m).
