I can't seem to get any sound when plugging a friends 360 in. It should be able to transfer sound through hdmi correct? I've been selecting audio outputs through the 360 to no avail. And selecting things under sound devices. But nothing will work. Anyone hook up their 360 and get sound working? Thanks.

On Recording Devices (Right click the speaker in the taskbar and pick Recording Devices) you should have "HDMI In" selected as the Default Device (right click, choose Default Device)

Then right click on it, choose Properties, and select the box on the Listen tab labeled "Listen to this Device"

I figured that's what I did, and also assumed it was messed up. For some reason HDMI in wasn't showing up as anything under recording devices. I'll try again later to see if it was a bad cord or if it just didn't feel like working. Thanks much, Beradon.

Also, check for the thing that I had to fix when I had the sound-going-out-after-20-seconds-problem: bump up the mhz for the hdmi-in sound settings to the max (48000mhz) or watever.

Here, found my old post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/7550340-post5.html, which I'll actually add to my sig just in case.

If it's not showing up then your drivers may not be installed correctly. Check your device manager to see if you have any unknown devices listed. My HDMI In shows even when nothing is there or plugged into it.

Pretty sure I installed the drivers correctly. I actually remember setting the correct microphone as default and hitting buttons on the controller and seeing the sound register, just no sound... lol. Ill try what dookie said, maybe that'll work. Thanks guys.

Edit: Nevermind, looked at dookies photo and Mine doesn't say HDMI in. And I ctually did find a couple unknown devices. PCI device and PCI simple communications controller. Can't find anything that says HDMI-in, though.

Finally figured it out. Had to install the IDT audio driver. Now have the option for HDMI-In audio.
