    Post says it all really.....

I have a NZXT Cryo LX at the moment (recently bought but has some problems which may or may not get sorted via rma / spare parts) so as a back up, i have looked at this model from Zalman and wondered if any of you guys have one and could tell me how it compares with the Cryo?

I liked the Cryo as the fans lined up with the intakes on the M17x and it looked good (but that is superficial in reality as the laptop covers all of it anyway!) - the Zalman on the other hand has one huge fan and more "holes" to circulate the air but it isnt as concentrated on the intakes of my laptop.
Basically, Cryo has 3 smaller fans all well spaced for the AW but the Zalman has one huge fan centrally located. Im having a hard job making up my mind which is better without input from people who have used eithher or both.

What I really want is the very best cooler for the M17x....if anyone has got any info, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks Guys!

I have the zalman and my friend has the cryo lx. I must say the cyro lx is a match made in heaven for the m17x. The zalman does not cool the gpu's enough. It only keeps the cpu cooler.

I don't have mine yet, but My friend barrowed my Zalman for his m17x for a few days and returned it to me and told me he's going to stick with his cyro. He mentioned the zalman dropped his cpu temp -7c.

Right, gotcha....wonder how much the temps were dropped with the cryo? - was it the nc3000u that you lent him or the nc2000

It's the nc3000u. I don't know how much temps were dropped with the cyro, but I'll ask. He's going to mod some noctua fans to work with his cyro lx.

Btw, how much is the cyro lx in the UK? I am thinking of ordering one for myself and the cheapest I found is $60 + shipping here in the states.

You in the UK??? - well, I have been searching for months to get a cryo.....only by luck the other day i got one from Scan....paid £60 all in. Got it and its like its been sat in the back for yrs...was covered with a tonne of dust and the usb hub doesnt work and the fans arent adjustable.
Been trying to get NZXT to replace or supply parts to fix whichh they said they would do so i guess i will have a fully working one at the end of the day.

Where did you find the US one? - cheapest i found was amazon.com but couldnt order in to the UK as only deliver to US addresses. :(

I was thinking of importing one from the US but im thinking by the time i add shipping of maybe $30 and then import/vat/duty, its gonna work out at about £85 ish....

I dont think anywhere in the UK has any more as i searched endlessly to find one and struck kinda lucky with the one from Scan...hope it can get fixed!

EDIT: Just realised you ARE in the US lol.....ooops...

The cheapest I found was on directron.com. They are a bunch of nice guys. May be you can email them and see if they can arrange international shipping for you in case you want to buy something from the US. :)
