hi guys! I'm interested in buying a refurbished AW laptop!
someone offered me one for sale! refurbished and used about a month!

I'm really hesitant about the refurbished laptops! are they usually hit or a miss? I hope I could be wrong

I owned one before and it's pretty good. But before you pull the trigger, you might wanna compare his price with the price at Dell outlet store. Good luck!

LOL. I did not realize that their inventory is already depleted with r3s. I used to check it all the time when I was still looking for R3s. :D Good luck!

what's the specs and asking price if you don't me asking? :D

The Outlet has been sold out for quite awhile now.

I bought my first R3 from the Outlet, it didn't have a single scratch on it! Perfect condition. If it has everything you want at a a good price, go for it.

    4 outlet computers purchased

    Three came in perfect condition
One was replaced due to keyboard hump, Bad HDD, Moboard, and CPU

In the end 4 very nice computers.

GT780DX will be limited to the 570M only which is obviously slower than the 580M.

Do not trust refurb for any company. Most just resell if it passes basic tests.

which is what I want! after all I'm returning back to desktops after 2 years! my $1199 single gpu rig is slightly slower than a M18x w/ 580m SLI and can EASILY beat that with another gpu for $250, so I'm not seeking for the power from laptops, just want to be reasonable :)

The general feeling I've seen is that they are hit or miss - I've seen comments on both ends of the spectrum - some people getting a perfect machine, others got one with alot of problems. I Purchased a m11x r2 last year that was in good shape overall but had one stuck pixel. I kept the machine as it was minor. Recently I had an issue with it and Dell replaced the full LCD for free, which is now perfect. Personally I would buy a refurb again direct from Dell (have one on order actually), but mainly because of the peace of mind of the warranty, good deals with the right coupons, and 21 day free return policy. Without those, I'd be more wary.

I think he's confused. The warranty is exactly the same for refurbished systems. They are same-as-new warranties, and can be transferred.

    It actually goes like this:
    - refurbished systems might come with problems but same goes for NEW systems, just read the owner's lounge(s) and anyway that's why there's a warranty and a return window.

    - personally I never had a problem with a refubished Precision I bought only with a XPS but Dell fixed them.(the AWs were new systems).

    - warranty is exactly the same as it is for new systems and IT IS TRANSFERABLE.
