Picked up a 256gb ssd for pretty cheap. I just added it into my system, physically. Now what do I do?

Format it and that should be it. Go into Admin Tool / Computer Management / Storage / Disk Management and it should be there. Right click on the disk ***** make sure you have the new disk ***** and select format.
