Hey guys, Need a little advice here in regards to me upgrading my cpu here because i have decided to upgrade my i7 4700hq to either the 4900mq or 4910mq.
Would the current heatsink that came with my i7 4700hq suffice? Is there any other known issues if I am to use a QS version instead of the OEM ones? I am mostly using my laptop for gaming alongside heavy CAD usage. Feed backs are much appreciated. :D

Your processor is not a HQ It's an MQ the difference between 4910MQ vs 4900MQ is just a few MHz & It should be pretty straightforward process. And there are no 3 Pipe CPU heatsinks in the new AW 17 & 18's.

Plus don't forget to use Liquid Ultra  as the thermal compound if are into some heavy Workloads/Gaming/Overclocking and want to increase the efficiency (fans+GPU+CPU+heatsink) overall as dell's thermal paste job is not that good and check temps if u really need it, do watch the tutorials first before going with that paste & the link below !!

If you decide to purchase the GTX 980M, you would be better off with a 4910MQ. However, a 4810MQ would suffice.

The extra boost in clock speed and 'overclock headroom' over the 4700MQ actually allows the 980M to open up more and it will perform a tiny bit better, according to benchmarks. Will you notice the difference? Probably not. HTWingNut has provided us with benchmarks showing that the 980M was slightly bottlenecked (on some games) with the 4700MQ/HQ.

The 4810MQ offers the best balance of performance/price for tweakers, the 49xx series are for those who chase benchmark numbers or need the extra cache/CPU power for other work.
