Is the entire screen white or ONLY the small square where video typically appear? If the former, it's possible that your screen is perhaps set to be an extremely low resolution and the Windows login controls (which are moved closer to the top of the screen with the new AlienSense "FaceBright" feature are being cut off. You could try increasing the resolution or booting into safe mode to see if that helps.

If you still DO see all the login controls when FaceBright is active but instead of video you just see a small white square, then it's likely that there's a problem with the camera itself.

Perhaps you could take a picture with an external digital camera and attach it here so I can better see what you mean? Thanks!

Yes ONLY the small square was white the rest of the screen was displaying as expected.

I later realized that last night I opened command center and it asked me to upgrade and I did, I thought everything was working fine but then i realized it messed the webcam so i did a system restore and voila it works again. Strange huh?

    thoughts?

No thoughts beyond what you've already determined. I would agree that it sounds like a webcam problem of some sort. Typically with such a problem the video would go black, not white, but it's still the most likely explanation. Let me know if you learn anything else. Thanks.

You can change this in the Alien Sense function. You don't have a hardware problem.

You can press "display" button(I believe that's the name) on the top left corner of your aliensense login screen. There are three selections, normal, blurred and White.
