    alienware m17x overclock info wanted

    hi
    i have an alienware m17x R1 with core2quad 2.00ghz + gtx260 sli 2gb gpu and want to overclock the cpu and gpu, can someone show me how to do it.

    Your best option for overclocking would be to get your hands on a qx9300 and upgrade your cpu. Then you could overclock with the unlocked multipliers in your bios. As is, you can only overclock by increasing your FSB in bios... and that tends to do screwy things to the video cards, not saying that it doesnt work, but i never had any success overclocking the video cards with an altered FSB. Most likely you wont be able to overclock the video cards with an increased FSB.... But you could also flash an altered vBios to the card to make it run faster. You have options, and there are detailed guides here in the forums.
    Once I upgraded my cpu all the little quirks with the video cards that i had with overclocking went away.
