    alienware mx17 r2 ram help

    ok i just bought 16gb ram kit everything works but during restart all i get is caps blinking with black screen. only way laptop loads is if i shut off then turn on not restart also in bios a10 it shows 0 on both slots. like i said everything works fine only thru shutoff then turn on not restart.

    Does your old RAM have the same behavior? Have you tried reseating the memory?

    What type of memory is it. I read a lot of people have problems with the corsair vengeance modules

    Old memory works fine it's g-skill 8gb kit. New kit is crucial 8gb sticks. Bios shows no memory installed but in windows task and cpuz shows 16gb. No problem during shutdown and turn on prom happens when I restart.
