AMD 6970m video card into m17x R3... and I read some stuff about heat sink do I need that?

I originally had 460m and installing 6970m and would like a instruction or guideline I could follow to do this successfully.. I know there is one in the owners manual, but I would like to get it from here.

its pretty straight forward, open up bottom panel. then removed the gpu fan and unscrew the heatsink off the card. then removed card. clean heatsink and add paste to gpu then put back.

run driver sweeper to clean up all the old nvidia drivers, and ccleaner to clean up the registry. then download the ati driver from the dell site.
