Hey Guys, i used to have a Dell XPS M1730, 2.2Ghz t7500, 8700m SLI 2gb 667mhz RAM (i upgraded it to 4), anyway i bought this from pc world a few years back and i think it broke within 4 months and pc world replaced it all was good until pc world revoked my insurance after i mistakenly overspent one month and then the motherboard went again under warranty and dell changed it, after numerous bugs and issue's the motherboard went again... i phoned dell and they basically told me to get lost, so i phoned trading standards and they basically said they have a liability to fix it, so then pc world take it away and then i have to phone them rather then they phone me >.> and they say they don't have the part and have basically offered to either pay off the rest of my contract with £300 on top or £600 one off seeing as i still owe about £450 left on my contract i might take the first one, anyway i was browsing for a new gaming rig and i had looked at Alienware's prior and so anyway im thinking of getting one the specs im looking at are as follows.

    Intel Core i7-720QM @1.6 GHz
4GB DDR3 RAM doesn't tell me the frequency on the site =/
    2x nVidia 260m GT SLI
    UXGA 1900x1600 widescreen
    7200 RPM 500GB
and all the other stuff alienware has.

    is that worth £1700?

also im looking for a rig that will run games like Metro 2033, Fallout 3, fallout 3 new vegas ( when it's released ) Mass effect 2, GTA 4 all of high settings. any decent rigs out there ?

    Thanks guys

    Yes, i can!

Though, what would you pay for mine now?

I'm not sure if the difference would be worth it for you to pay more instead of going with a bit older system and have to make a compromise in maybe going a bit lower aswell on the settings in games.

Did you check the other threads about the 260GT how those perform, might have to compare it to mine, and see if you are satisfied with either one. Then decide if the price is right.

Also i can only recommend the RGBLED display. You don't want to go with any lower image quality anymore if you have seen such a screen once and haven't seen it so far, quite impressive, you have to experience it for yourself. I think it improves eyesight aswell, if you are like me and are close to having glasses or not :D
