So this (so far) has only happened while trying to play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, but almost every time I play the game, at some point during video playback I'll get BSODed and the culprit is flagged as ATIKMPAG.SYS.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be? I'm running the 10.10 ATI Catalyst drivers, as well as the latest VBIOS from Dell's driver page, and all that other up to date jazz.
Thanks in advance.

I encountered this same annoying thing a couple of days ago. Happen to me like 4 times lol. I was so annoyed ehahahahaha. Only with this game as well. Others are fine. Its a bit odd sometimes it happens when I try to load a saved game other times its fine. I have to cross my fingers everytime lol.
I'm not to sure if the driver is the problem or the game needs patching. Most likely both LOL. Nvidia runs the game fine no problems like this yet. A few of my mates are all Nvidia and have not run into this either.
So not to sure what we can do really for this particular game. Either go back to 10.8 perhaps or we'll just have to wait for a game patch of Heaven help us a AMD fix LOL.
BTW how does the game run for you maxed out settings? I run it at 30fps.
Cheers. -
Max settings w/ AA, I get 40 or greater. Some spots slow down to around 20 but so far excellent performance!

I was having this problem a while back - it turned out to be due to faulty memory sticks. I had just upgraded to 8G, and one (or both) were unreliable.
Memory tests did not indicate any detectable issues with the sticks, but once I replaced them with my original 4G and then with replacement 8G the BSOD cleared up.
I guess that part of the ATI driver is sensitive to memory reliability. -
I would also point out that I had seen other posts on the AMD forums that pointed to memory failure, which is what prompted me to even consider that possibility.
If you happen to have upgraded memory recently, then that would be my first suspicion. -

it's fairly possible a cfx setup use the cpu and system memory quite more then a sli setup (nothing drastic but stil) so it's fairly possible that your stick could be faulty or just not cfx friendly have you tryed runing with cfx disabeld?

I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong with my hardware as it is only when running this particular game that things play up or BSOD occurs. Every other time or game runs fine. Most likely a AMD driver issue I reckon. Seeing as Nvidia doesn't have the problems.

These machines seem to be quite temperamental when it comes to the memory that is installed.
For me, I would get a BSOD from the mentioned driver... but always in a specific (and bizarre) circumstance... it only happened when using a virtual machine (VMWare or VBox). After reaching a certain memory utilization point in a virtual machine... around 2G or so I think it was... the host operating system would crash with the BSOD.
I could run memtest for days on end without a single failure... but that one piece of software would trigger it every time. I could also run any other software, games included, without seeing the problem. In fact, had I not been using the machine to run those very same VMs (without crashing) just prior to upgrading the memory, I would have most likely assumed it was faulty software and not hardware.
So my point here is that just because problems were never noticed before, doesn't mean it's not the memory chips
But of course it could just be the driver and/or game too
Only way to really know is to try swapping things around to isolate it better. -
If it is my memory I will sure be on the buzzer to dell to send me out some new 8gb goodness.
The only thing is that I never get any BSODs any other time only when I go to load or am playing Star wars. So it tends to lead me to the conclusion that the game isn't fully optimised for ATi (AMD sorry) drivers once again. LOL.
I'm pretty sure the ram is fine but who knows ey ehehhee oles.
Cheers.
