Thoughts? Is it a driver that I need to install? Works fine when plugged in but when not plugged in it won't boot and if it is on when I unplug it, it loses power.
Battery is showing a charge when I click the button.

try removing it and reinstalling it. may not be properly seated

I think that you should try taking out the battery and the Ac-Adapter, press and hold the power button for 1 minute (the laptop won't turn on) and then try again. Also you can try loading the BIOS defaults by pressing F9 in the BIOS screen and then F10 to save and exit.
If after performing this troubleshooting the issue persists a Battery replacement may be necessary so please send us an e-mail to [email protected] (for US and CA) or [email protected] (for any other country) and we will get back to you as soon as possible, please remember to add your contact information and service tag in the e-mail. -
No luck, even opened it up to make sure nothing was loose and all is good. Everything works perfectly when plugged in.

yea i would go with battery is dead...odd that it would just go ka-put but I dont see how drivers would not allow the battery to work. I coudn't even begin to guess without playing with it myself.
by the way nice to see an alienware rep on here regularly. I wish I got paid to post stuff -
The battery light is showing full charge so not sure what's up.

Try removing the battery and, leaving the battery out, turn on the computer with just the AC adapter plugged in. Once powered up and booted into Windows, shut down the computer. Unplug the AC adapter and press the power button for 1 minute. Replace the battery and try to power up the computer.
battery not working after fresh OS and SSD install...
