Best warranty is from Dell. No other warranty will give you better replacement system down the road. If you are gonna spend 3k+ on a laptop, don't cheap out on it's warranty. Dell warranty is usually at best price at the time of purchase btw. GL.

but i already but the computer
-
See if you can change the order.
If you got the computer already, and are with in the return period, do so if Dell don't offer the warranty price as if you are buying at the purchase date.
Like I said, sales reps quotes on warranty will be atleast 50% higher than the day you buy the computer, atleast in my experience.
Only specs you have to make sure you have on your M17X R2 are.
WUXGA RGB
Dual 5870
Dual 4870 if you cant afford 5870
Rest parts are at your preference.
I suggest 3 year warranty minimum. -
thank u achilles ill see what i can do

You can buy the warranty after the fact from Dell. Infact, you can even get a discount if you talk to the right sales rep. Assuming you bought your computer and its still within its 1 year warranty, you should have no issues upgrading to a better warranty.
MAKE SURE YOU GET ACCIDENTAL CARE! -
Have you even tried to get accidental care after the purchase?
It's basically x2 of basic warranty.
My decent deal, 5 years for close to 600 bucks after taxes was basic next day @ home service, and if I had added accidental, it would've easily gone up 1k. (On M11x btw.) -
Bought 2 year extend to my 1 year and added 3 year complete care 786.00
not cheap but Achilles is right over 3k you need to protect it.

My boss had a Dell XPS M2010 that had been more or less a lemon, but he worked through it because he's stubborn. Near the end of the warranty period, the thing started really eating through GPUs. After a few shots at it, I pushed him into calling Dell and getting a trade in. After a month of working on the trade in, they gave him a top of the line Alienware M17x R2.
I don't rightly think I'd want to buy a laptop that costs more than two thousand dollars anywhere else. It might cost a bunch up front, but if something goes wrong, you can get it fixed ASAP. If it keeps going wrong, you can get a brand new one. If they don't make the same system, you can get a new system of equal value. Best, warranty, ever. -

I bought a dell 9400 about 6 years ago. could have been 9100 (long time ago)
took upgraded warranty to 5 years.
had 5 replacement systems in 5 years and ended up with XPS M1730.
when that one that one stoped working they refused to replace it and isssued me a refund in full of the purchase price of the original system 5 1/2 years after i purchased it!! with 5 new machines in the 5 years
Dell Waranty is worth having although it can be a pain sometimes. -
i bought a 3 year warranty from dell with accidental care and next day service for $450 and talked the guy into sending me a $100 Dell Gift Card... depends on who you talk to...
best place for warranty
