    Hi guys

I just replaced one of my HDD's that ran in a RAID 0 config and lost all my data, so now im currently setting everything up again.

This time though, I wish to run the drives in a mirrored config, RAID 1, but im unsure how to set it up from scratch.

I have currently installed vista( on one of the drives apparently), and i have installed the nvidia chipset drivers and raid controllers so once again I get the "F10 to setup raid" screen in post, after the "F12/F2 for BIOS" screen.

I have now set the drives in RAID 1 with the nvidia utillity, but I dont know what will happen or what I am supposed to do next.
Will the HDD's begin mirroring right away before Vista starts or do I need to install vista again?

    thanks

I can't follow your question 100%, did you install vista first or did you set up the RAID first? If you setup the RAID then installed vista it should automatically mirror everything for you, if you installed vista first I don't think it will do anything. Setting up the RAID either 0 or 1 should wipe the drives completely. Step by step you set RAID in BIOS, set data stripe in RAID utility, then install OS and drivers and you're set.

I was stupid and installed Vista first without checking the settings. But I did things in the order you just posted, and got it working perfectly.

    Thanks, that was easy :)
