i was looking to get some new ram, i have been researching and im finding that HyperX kingston ram is very good. since ram is so cheap i want to get the best set. however im looking and they dont have kingston HyperX 4x2 8GB ram in 1333mhz BUT they have it in 1600mhz.

so my question is, is it ok for me to get the kingston HyperX 1600mhz and put in it my m17x r2? will it adjust the ram to 1333mhz automatically? if so then i want to get the hyperX but if there is any problem with this whatsoever i have no problem geting like OCX or crucial or somthing.

I think it will work properly and should downclock accordingly.
    I might be wrong.

If the sticks are not bad,YES they will work but not above 2x667Mhz(1334Mhz ~1333Mhz).
Wow there are 3 threads with commun content already.

really? well i guess the search feature sucks because i searched these words before i posted it, i found one thread but the people werent to sure and i want to be sure before i spend $110 on ram that might not work lol.

ok great if it goes down to 1333mhz then thats great, then the hyperX ram would be the best bet right? because i heard the hyperX is really the best.

It'll work, but it'll downclock to 1333mhz, even with an extreme CPU.

Unless you do anything EXTREMELY ram-intensive (and time intensive) you will notice basically no difference.

Games run virtually identically on 3-4GB 800mhz ram as it will on 8GB 1600mhz ram. Fast MHZ and more GBs are a marketing ploy.

...for now. But seriously, though, 4GB is all you need for a while.

i think 6gb should be the new low now because i got 4gb in now and i got a cpu/speed monitor gadget and it shows im using 60-70% of my ram at times. so im almost using all my 4gb of memory. thats why im looking to upgrade to 8gb now. plus its just so darn cheap lol

Wow, this is uncanny.....I have been looking at the exact same ram (i think) here: Buy.com - Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz 204-Pin Laptop Memory - I take it this WILL be ok for my R2 aswell as the OP's

I too was wondering if it would be ok for the R2 - it seems a great price for HyperX and I cant find any ANYWHERE that is 1333.....

I just did some more googling and came across this thread ( i think i posted the same kinda question in a thread of my own)

yeah thats crazy, i just ordered mine today because it got back in stock, it has been out of stock for awhile, it has been coming back it stock and selling out within 24 hours but now they got a lot i think because they are still in stock.

and if you order before 2/6 you get a free 4gb flashdrive which is pretty cool free gift.

They won't have the same timings and CAS,they might also BSOD.
You'll be better off replacing the stock with these!
Keep the stock sticks for warrenty purposes.
