Throttle stop is a great ocing tool for the xm chips. You have complete control over your cpu multipliers, you can get a little boost or a lot. It's really an amazing little tool.

ThrottleStop allows your CPU to consume more energy or run at a higher multiplier. You can tell it to run when Windows boots, so it is very convenient. To see it in action, run a Vantage benchmark so you have something to base your results on. Overclocking your CPU will raise the GPU scores in the process, but I mainly pay attention to just the CPU score. In ThrottleStop, go to the 'TPL' button and raise it to, say, 80 TDP and 70 TDC. Hit Apply. Run another benchmark and you'll see your CPU score is up quite a bit. It obviously makes your CPU run hotter too. I'd advise you to get HWInfo32 so you can monitor CPU temperatures. For ultimate stability, run Prime95 with small FFTs. Run it until your temps are stable, and are no longer climbing. No game can hammer the CPU like Prime95, so if you've got good temps while running that, you're set for all other operations. Have fun!

so i just used Throttle stop and ran a vantage test. the wierd thing is my score was higher before i used throttle stop. The settings i used in throttle stop where the ones turbodtalon suggested. 80TDP and 70TDC. those are the only settings i changed within throttle stop and i hit apply. was i supposed also hit the "turn on" button?
