Just a word of warning to anyone who has gotten their system lately, check to make sure your system is working right. Granted this is my first ATI machine but I had no idea the driver that Dell installed didn't work correctly. I got my R2 about a month ago and took for granted everything was working. I noticed little things like i wasnt able to adjust the brightness of my screen and odd performance when working in maya.I just assumed it was all due to the ATI vs nvidia differences and the new LED display... until i got curious about what my fps should be in oblivion and dragon age. ran fraps, horrible 26 fps. Ran GPU Z and noticed crossfire wasnt enabled. Decided to reinstall the driver and bam everything is beautiful. I really do love this machine, but having been an Nvidia fan for years ATI's way of handling drivers and such is a mess!

I completely agree. You can uninstall and re-install the same driver several times, and end up with different problems each time, and then it will finally install and work fine. I never experienced anything like this with Nvidia drivers. Though to be perfectly honest i've never experienced this with desktop ATI drivers either.

They have some serious problems with the installer for their Mobility parts.

You should see the 5870 xfire drivers. They suck

I'm under the impression that 10.5 drivers aren't compatible with the 5870 from dell. has anyone heard word of compatibility being added to 10.6 catalyst?
