You will probably will have to wait for the new driver update. The game is newer than the driver and there is no proper support for it at the moment.
However, you may try to use a single card and not the crosfirex, it should work just fine without the issue of 'flickering'.
Enjoy the game... -
thrue - works fine on one card just fps almoust double with sec. card

I installed Dirt 3 on my R2, spces are in my sig. Played for over 3 hours. Absoluetly NO flickering. I'm using 11.5CCC & 11.5CAP2. In the benchmark I get 89FPS at max settings(1200P) w/o Vsync and with Vsync a constant 60FPS. This game runs like a dream!! -
I find that this happens to me every once in a while....
I just alt-tab out of the game then back in and the flickering goes away.
Just a thought
Also finding that the 11.5b hotfix with latest caps (11.5 cap2) seems to keep everything running nice.
11.5 cap3 are supposed to be available sometime today, so keep an eye out.
*******edit here you go

i'm yet to play a new game on my R2, that actually works correctly out of the box. THAT is my single biggest annoyance so far with my m17x/ATI
I have these problems with Dirt3. first level worked fine, but i noticed flickering during "fades" in the loading screens where it shows off the car, and anywhere else that its supposed to fade in / out. i ignored this, as long as the game was ok. first level, so far so good. Second level, the road textures are all messed up and flickering like hell, white black @ 60fps
Why is it so difficult for companies to make a damned game that actually works properly on release!?
/rant -
Runs like a dream for me around 77fps on Ultra 1920x1200 i turn on vsync and have it @ 60fps so no screen tear
I did find when o/c in bios @ 5% i was getting short pauses every now and then (multi dropping??) dropped it back to 3% and its as above! (mines oem from dell)
I have ordered all the gear for a cpu re-paste
what are you guys/girls running o/c on a 940xm or 920xm -

If you're on the latest AMD drivers 11.5CCC & 11.5CAP 1 or 2 and still have flickering, you need to get your cards replaced. This game defenitely uses Crossfire well. Its all smooth gameplay at maxed out settings.
I get 89FPS at max settings(1200P) w/o Vsync and with Vsync a constant 60FPS without overclocking with 8xAA enabled. I also would suggest a repaste. Did you run the benchmark? -
so that is how behave on my m17 hd 4870-now im sure my card are ok -
on bench i got over 50 fps all max out-performance is ok its just flickering- seems like problem is for 4870x2 any1 else have the same issue with 4870 ????-just want make sure cards are ok
-
How could you get 89FPS at Max setting bro? With mine, I've got 88 @ 1200p with High all and 4xAA, with ultra I've get only 58 ,even my 5870 OC @ 810/1200

After installing CAP3 my FPS has gone up.
I know it may sound silly but after getting a system with an SSD all my FPS in games has gone up and is smooth as silk without any hitching.
djhuydx, you have 720QM. The 720QM & your HDD's in RAID is the bottleneck of your system holding back your 5870M CF.
I hope this helps.Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
thank you for input but I still don't believe that would change that much FPS, btw your result is absolutly great

Thank you. Some games are cpu dependent. In this game my gpu's aren't even stressed the fans only go to 60%. Before I owned a 740QM R2. Since getting a system with a SSD and a 940XM my FPS in games has gone up significantly. This game is well optimized for CF.
I hope you look into the advantage of an SSD & a 920/940xm. -
yeah, I'm aware of differences but with 90% better, its quite huge amount, I've searched on ebay for 920xm, 340usd right now, sweet deal btw, get it some day...
This game is well optimized for CF, double you that, if all another games just like that, we would be so happy

The last thing I did was change the audio from 3D raptor to software. On my R2 I noticed the audio did sound more 3D but made the volume lower. I'd rather have more volume.

Hi i have a 4870x2 also if you disable catalyst AI while you play the game this will stop the flickering textures.

If the 5870M CF is flicker free then I can't see why the 4870M CF would be an different.
Are you using 11.5CCC & 11.5CAP3? If you are then I would suggest replacing your GPU's if your still under warranty. -
i dont think all 4870 are faulty- another games work good with crossfire- its more simple -AMD gaming evolving but which way- drivers never was great done
one more - if i have the same frame rates like on dirt 2 so where is evolution? seems like dirt3 use the same engine just they put new track's- they are good btw anyway really enoy me that you see on the 1th screen AMD gaming evolved- AMD forget to support little older cards like 4870 -they are still not so bad -
no work- you should notice that disable AI - you disable second card as well- gpu show that 2 cards are involved- in real works only one
dirt 3 flickering
