fellow NBR's....can you help me with id'ing this issue

perfectly happy running 03 month old R4 , put in a 840 pro ssd delivered today, imaged my system...(infact i posted here earlier to find out about SSD benchies), 2 hours later while studying with the lappie on, and backing up i woke up the display to find this strange violet hue with nearly unintelligible fonts....no matter i reboot the pc, no change,
    change GPU's=no change,
    boot in win8= no change,
i open up the back panel making sure everything is well fit-no issues there so i restart the pc still same colors,
powercycled still the same "corrupted display
ran D while holding power button, the LCD cycled through with no color issues,

so i kind of bottled this down to the GPU or mobo.....

qs is do you think is there anything i can do to avoid replacing this entire pc innards in my house.....i mean if the entire brunt of Dell's manufacturing couldnt make a perfect PC, what can one tech do inside my house.

.why is dell committed to making MY life with an AW a miserable hell, ever since april 2011, Dell has NEVER provided me with a single M17 that has been trouble free for more than 3 months, i have infact at one time purchased 3 m17's (one that i paid for, one i bought to make sure the issue was replicable and while they were considering an exchange on the first one and another one i purchased running a 6990M...which eventually they refunded the money on the first 02, and 02 weeks later the motherboard on the 6990M went out, necessitating yet another exchange....which then led to ongoing QC issues leading to a complete refund)...at one point i laud their customer support but loathe their QC department...i mean how many 3000$ lemon's can one customer get?

    Can you post a picture?
Does it appear to have the hue when windows is booting? or on the bios screen?

Sorry about the inconveniences with the support that you have had in the past. Does it happen in the BIOS screen or external monitor?

Is it possible your graphics driver is the issue? Try booting into safe mode and then removing / disabling the GPU drivers.

    I'd say it's a graphics card issue(or failure), but that's just my suspicion. :(

That pretty much summarises it all. If both internal and external monitor has exactly the same issue - GPU fault. This can't be drivers/software since you are experiencing the problem in BIOS too. This can not be LCD cable or the screen as you still have the same fault on external monitor. I would check the temperature of GPU and try re-seating it in the socket and replacing thermal paste with something like Arctic cooling mx-4 or arctic silver 5.
