    Can I do raid with an external hard drive with the esata port on the m17x?

    I want say no, and I want to ask why if you cold...Unless of course your talking about raid 1.

    Yeah I want to run RAID 1 I have a spare 500GB desktop sized drive in an externa case and didnt want to buy another 500GB laptop sized drive.

    Don't think so. Raid only goes on the two internal drive ports.

    It would not work. Even if you did some how get it to work the external hard drive would bog down the other hard drives.
