    is there anyway to resurrect a failed 5870?

    i bought this on ebay carelessly not thinking and the video card is not working according to the seller.

    did he tell you whats wrong with it? crashes in games? wont boot? any other information?

    Have you tried doing a vBios flash? What's exactly happening with it?

    It depends on what you mean by "failed". If it's totally dead, then there's only a slim chance. Like Luis said, a VBIOS flash would be your best option. Next from that would be a card bake. Other than that, it's pretty much a bust.

    I have a couple of spare dead cards... Maybe I'll bake them. Couldn't really hurt. I have a 5870m and 260m that are both no-post cards. Maybe I should preheat my oven to 385 degrees! Haha, such an interesting method.
