    Hello there
I have a m17X laptop with a nvidia 9400 integrated card and a gtx 260m for discrete graphics. The 260m is currently placed on the left socket of the laptop. Can I remove it from the left socket and buy another graphics card which I want but place it in the right socket? Is this possible or do I have to do something else for the laptop to consider the right socket as the discrete graphics (which has never been used before)?
    Alex

That system has capability for dual graphics configuration, each socket is specifically for either the primary or the secondary graphics card, so If you want to upgrade the graphics card but keep a single graphics card configuration, you have to put it in the the left socket (which is speficially for the primary card), or you can just buy a second video card like the one you have right now, and put it on the right side socket (which is specifically for the secondary graphics card) and have dual configuration.
