680m is expected at end of summer. It will be on the MXM 3c standard which is backward compatible with the R3
you may have fan issues though unless they update the R3 bios, so you may have to control the fans independantly with something like HWINFO -
Nothing on price yet. Release dates are estimated anywhere from early June onwards, but no concrete info yet exists. It should be either MXM 3.0 or 3.1, so it should be compatible with higher end Sandy Bridge laptops such as your M17xR3.

So if installed without a fan tweak it might overheat?

Yea, Just run HWINFO at startup and you should be good to go if it becomes an issue though. -

no bro, its the opposite, your GPu fan will be on full blast 100% of the time. You'll notice that when you first start the computer, the fans come on, then they quiet down because the fan profile kicks in, but without the 680m fan profile in your EC (embedded controller program), it will go on full blast -
The fan stuff is all speculation, no one really has any idea how it will react in the R3. It COULD happen, it might not either, depends on how the EC is setup.
Anyway, to answer the question, it will be late summer or sometime this Fall. Nvidia is saying by the end of Q3, which ends in September, so it could be somewhere around to September, but hopefully no later. -
Any chance the gtx 680M will work on a 15 inch laptop?
Thanks! -
More than likely, the Clevo P150EM will get it.
