Upgraded from the gtx 765m to the gtx 780m and Needing to know if they use the same fan? DC2800CNF0 brushless motor FC8J dc 5v 0.5A 1.74 CFM . Wondering if there's anything better out there 1.74 CFM is pretty low I thought? can someone check there fan and see what CFM you got listed please and if there's any aftermarket fans (quiet more CFM) out there?

Yup, those temperatures look fine. We don't have any information about any aftermarket fan that will fit this machine. If you find any that works let us know through here.

The answer to both of those questions is the same... "Because my laptop is awesome and yours is lame." :D Thin + Light + Quiet = Low Performance Junk :D

Although 78°C is not dangerous, you really should try to get it down to a lower temperature if you can. GPU performance begins to decline as temps increase and your temperature is getting close to the threshold that it would matter. Once summer time is in full swing if you try to use the machine in an environment with asinine ambient temperatures, you may end up with a machine that runs warm enough to have throttling concerns. (If you are feeling warm, you can bet your laptop is too warm to function properly.) You may want to consider using a good thermal paste... one with a strong following by extreme overclockers to improve your results. I like Liquid Ultra and IC Diamond the best, but Gelid Extreme is good stuff, too. Some of the very popular mainstream thermal pastes are not very good and you're better off leaving the stock Dell TIM in place.

Alienware also needs to fix the fan tables on the newer machines. The Alienware 17 and 18 need to have the RPM limits removed and the fan tables need to be more aggressive for the system to cool effectively. They have really awesome heat sinks, but without lots of air moving through them they are not all that effective. Or, as an alternative, they need to remove whatever is restricting access to manual fans controls so that customers that prefer a cool machine at the slight expense of hearing the fans can have one. Those that want a quiet but hot machine can leave it operating with defaults.
