Probably the adapter, but have you run a manual scan through the driver panel?

it's part of the GFX driver. HAve you tried setting up the monitor on the nVidia control panel?

I had the same issue. Tried two different adapters, troubleshot it... my AW didn't recognize anything. Oddly enough, the monitor I'm using reacts when I plug/unplug the VGA cord into/from the VGA side of the adapter, just nothing on the HDMI side. Wonder if it has to do with the fact that the HDMI port on the new AW is both IN & OUT.

I gave up and bought a mini-Display Port to VGA adapter. Works perfectly.

i personally think it would have been cheaper in the long run to just get a new monitor and relegate the LG monitor for some other use.

That's what I'll be doing eventually. I need a monitor w/ HDMI, 1080p minimum, and can swivel 90 degrees. Unfortunately, it's costly at this time to get all three.

You could always get one with a vesa mount and get your own frame that can be re-used in future.
