    Yes, I know that i can buy a USB sound card. Ok how would I get 5.1 from the m17x sound card just using the regular two plug PC headset

    If your Headset has two plugs similar to this:

    Im afraid you cant experience more channels then 2 (2.0 or stereo Sound), your Headset just doesnt have more physical (or virtual) channels.
    A analog 5.1 Surround Headset would have 3 Plugs for Speakers and 1 Plug for the Microphone, totaling 4.
