Hey guys, I've been trying to overclock my 680m with MSI AfterBurner here. Apparently sometimes, Afterburner freezes up with my system whenever I try to open the app. Are there any other way to overclock my 680m aside from MSI AfterBurner? Feedbacks would be much appreciated.

try updating your drivers, the latest one now is 306.97(last i saw)

and Dell 680Ms have a +135 limit on core and +1000 on memory clock limit
    and you cant overvolt

You can overclock your card by flashing anohter vbios on it(can change voltages 2), I suggest you check out forum.techinferno.com

those vbios are for clevos or msi, modified dell vbios just has a higher stock clock(no OV)
wont recommend you to flash vbios from other manufacturers

Have you tried EVGA PrecisionX? Uses the same OSD component as Afterburner though so if this is having a problem then it will be the same :(

    download from Guru3D.com

Make sure that you always monitor the temps cuz damages caused by overclocking components are normally not covered under the HW Warranty.

Have been really busy recently to test out these tools. Apparently EVGA works like a charm for me and as for the temps, my gpu idles at 30-36 (varies because of room temp) and fully loads at around 60-65 degrees (with overclock) not sure how my temps would go for other games tho because I have only tested it on Dark Souls with 1080p patch/maxed settings and 60 fps patch

I'm using the MSI vbios for my Clevo 680m. The Clevo and MSI 680m's are practically identical so the vbios works either way. Dell 680m however is completely different.

edit: Nvm, managed to flash my vbios with the msi's one from techinferno. scored 6.8k stock and now here comes the hard part. Just like MSI afterburner, EVGA Precision X is starting to freeze up on me again as soon as I launch its app. It was working fine until I restarted my com which then led me back to square one now.

Damn... you just got me mega excited for the arrival of my laptop in 2 weeks xD

Not sure if that 3Dmark page is showing the right clocks :S what were your clocks at? how are temps

Btw new Nvidia beta drivers are out :D apparently increase 680M performance even more

my clocks for that OC was at 1062/2200. temp seems to be around 77-79 degree max after prolonged 3dmark 11 testing. a little skeptical about the temps tho because its around 6 degree higher than my stock vbios temps. Probably because of the increase in voltage.

Am I just a noob at overclocking... or is that a pretty damn high overclock? You went from 720/1800 to 1062/2200? (or am I just an idiot and I dont know which clocks you mean, cuz I googled it and if you bumped up core clock that much that would be huuugee) :S

Damnn if you can do that and stay under 80 degrees, I am MEGA PUMPED! And I have IC Diamond cooling paste + planning on getting a cooling pad... What kind of performance increase do you see with these clocks in game? and running with no issues right

when it comes to games I can see a noticeable increase in fps in games like saints row the third. With its notoriously bad optimization I went from 40+fps average to 50+ as for other games that I am playing now :dark souls, heroes of newerth, xcom, deadlight I can barely notice any difference as they do not fully utilize the gpu ( 50-60% usage at most)

forgot to mention too I am also using IC diamond 7 with a cooling pad, temps are slightly higher due to my room's ambient temperature now
