    how does my M17x R3 know when to use the fans to cool and how do i change it?

    So what i need to know is what temp does the fans kick in(cpu and gpu)and is it possable to change when they do.without downloading any other programs.

    without any programs it is impossible i think,
    fan kicks in lets say at 70-75< 'C, but it waries as video cards are not all the same.
    HWinfo is a nice program that can controll your gpu fan

    its easier to say what you want to achieve ?
    or do you have any problems with it.

    in my opinion if everything is ok and you just want to lower the rpm of your fans at max - NO NOT DO IT, if the fan kicks in, it means it have to :)

    Not sure what the stock Fan setup is but I don't like it as it doesn't do a good job of cooling when the machine is under full load. I don't think you can change it without downloading a program like HWinfo64 and running a custom setup. I just use it for when I'm doing folding and then I just have the fans run at max speed. Keeps everything a bit cooler than the stock fan setup. ;)
