    how long does it take to build

    So I ordered my alienware m17x r3 3d and it says it is in production and it will be here on the 21st. I was just wondering how long it usually takes for alienware to build the laptop and ship it cause i hear that the date they say it will be there is as late an estimate as possible.

    I'm 8 days in but hopefully it should arrive tommorrow , it's in Germany last time I looked after leaving china :)

    From production to shipping has been 4-7 days recently depending on system you built. When you receive the system after shipped depends on day of wk it is shipped along with type of shipping you paid for. Good Luck. Let us know when it lands

    I had an email from Dell today. They stated that my laptop would ship on the 19th and delivery date is 26th. I ordered the system on the 7th. I suppose production time is about 10 to 14 days. They said because I requested ups, it would take a week longer to deliver, dosen't make any sense.

    Standard is ground through FedEx. You requested UPS so that is gonna take longer. When you say production time is 10-14 days. Do you know the date the system was showing on Dell website as going into production? Also what are your system specs??

    I made my payment right after ordering over the phone. The payment went through right away. Within 2 hrs of that, the website was showing in production and has been showing that since then.

    I'm in roughly the same boat... I ordered on the 8th and it went into production that day too. It's still in production. my eta is the 21st (and that's with 1 day shipping).

    I ordered on the 5th and mine should be coming in the 16th. I got upgraded to NBD shipping for free. So....Build time is approximately 10 days? I guess...
