i did a clean install on SSD RAID0 setup (crucial M4 X 2) and this is driving me nuts.

at first, i did not install it but then it gives out warning in the device manager (unknown device error)

so i installed it but has no menu for PERMANENTLY disabling it.

i found the icon in the control panel but it has menu for temporary disable that's good only until next boot. once i reboot, it boots up with free fall sensor fully enabled again.

    can anyone help?

ps. i'm hoping that maybe it gets automatically disabled if it detects SSDs, as in my case?

Go to start, type "msconfig" and select it. Find the tab titled "startup" and uncheck ""ffprotection". Restart your machine. Done!

    thanks, remedy1978 :)

ok. this is what i found out.

i tried to look for that "ffprotection" in the "msconfig" but it's not there. but the driver is installed correctly as i could see it in the device manager under "system devices.", heck, even the icon is present in the control panel.

i know how the device works because thinkpads have a similar program and the easy way to see it is to play a video file, and grab ur laptop and start dancing. the video immediately stops playing and intermittently gets frozen on and off...

so i did just that. and there is no interruption in the video playback, even with free fall software fully installed and engaged.

i speculate that it gets automatically disabled without the user input because
    1. i have SSD
    2. i have SSD RAID 0.

go figure. case closed... (at least for me)

Why not just not install the driver and ignore it in device manager.
Works fine here for over a year..
