I just discovered this huge temp improvement in prime95 by completely disconnecting the keyboard, I got approximately 12 degrees improvement, and just wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing, is this normal at all?

my cpu is i7 940xm btw.

Could be better ambient. Did you remove the keyboard completely? Exposing the heatsinks may help.
