i have two m17x alienware computers and i notice that ones keyboard is noticeable brighter than the other, using the same exact color scheme and everything..

anyone have any idea why/how this is happening?

and of course the one i use is the less bright one, i want mine to be as bright as the other one, iv searched alot and couldnt find anything about this.

could it be there is an update i didnt install on this computer?

If you are talking about the current M17x and not the area-51, check the alienfxcontroller icon in the tasktray. Be sure the system displaying the dimmer LEDs is not set to 'Dim Lighting Zones'.

    other than that, not sure.

It's a function offered in the AlienFX system if checked in the taskbar icon it dims the lighting zones slightly. There is a further option "dim on battery" also available from the taskbar tray icon.
