I've tried other threads, other websites, general OC guides but I can't get it to work. Currently the CPU is running at 2.3GHz (as shown in CPU-Z and Intel XTU) and the normal core speed should actually be 2.7GHz... I'm trying to get a decent OC core speed out of it (somewhere between 3.5GHz and 4GHz), I've tried using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility as well as the BIOS but even after I apply the changes I still run at the same frequency of ~2.3GHz...
I really have no idea what the problem could be. (I have Overclocked enabled in the BIOS)

    Can anybody help me?

PS: System - Alienware M17xR4 (BIOS on A10 version)

Is that the frequency when idle or when under load?... in idle it will downlock to save power...

Looking at CPU-Z and at the multiplier while IDLE it sometimes drops to x13 (1.3GHz) and other times it's at x23 (2.3GHz). When I perform stress tests (using Intel XTU for example) the max frequency is stil 2.3GHz. Same thing goes for gaming, it stays at 2.3GHz.

    Talk with @Swick1981 http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...y-support-possible-but-testers-needed.790640/
Or take a look into the Throttlestop guide. @unclewebb is the man also to talk with.

might sound stupid but, is your laptop in performance mode? from the battery icon in the taskbar
if its in battery saver, max core clock i see is 1197mhz
    balanced gives max 2.6ghz
performance mode give me the max 3.6 ghz

    do check and see

I take that back!!! Thank you so much rjtnag!! It was on "balanced" instead of "High Performance". Now it's running at 3.5GHz.

    Thank you very much
