    Are the advantages of upgrading on the R17X R4 t he same as on any other laptop? I noticed in the latest UEFI/bios on the R4 that there is an oc section is this for all chips or just the XMs?

    you can overclocking the 3940XM through the BIOS or intel XTU much further than you can the 3820QM. My 3920XM will do 4.2Ghz 4 core with no extra voltage added. Still a performance demon today at 4 years old

    Not hard when Intel won't give us anything worth upgrading too :p

    I am all for power reductions and better thermals but frequency wise we have been stagnant for years. This is what no competition has done to the industry.
