Hi, I just got an Intel 320 SSD 120GB for about $200 USD.

Reinstalled everything from scratch and the performance is INCREDIBLE.

There are several threads regarding the different SSDs and performance, if you have an R2 go for the SATA II (3Gbps) if you have an R2 go for SATA III (6Gbps)

    Prices vary

draiken is correct... There are already way too many threads on this topic. You can find them using Google to search our forum. Use the prefix site:forum.notebookreview.com followed by key words.

We even have an entire forum dedicated to that subject: Solid State Drives (SSDs) and Flash Storage Discuss SSDs and flash storage here.

Once you decide on what to buy, go here for help with the setup: HOW TO: Doing a Clean Windows Installation, Setting Up an SSD drive or RAID0

Yes, you can use the COA Product Key that came with your system. Or, even easier, simply back up your existing activation using the ABR (Activation Backup and Restore) utility and restore it after you do the clean installation. It works great. (You can skip through entering the product key during the installation, but it will only work on the version of Windows you have... you cannot upgrade from Home Premium to Pro or Ultimate, for example.)
