    Hi clement_ng,
Are you by chance trying to overclock the system? Also, please include the message you are getting when the system bluescreens.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

Try booting with just one memory stick installed. And, then the other. See which one is bad. Most likely they are not both bad. The memory compartment is easily accessible under the bottom panel of the laptop.

Reading your specs you are off on it if you had the 2+ and 4+ ram you would have 6gb not 8gb. Add it up.

But I had a few blue screens of death but it was due to two faulty 640gb hard drive total of 1.2tb. The fault was the hard drive and Fedex.

What I would like you to do take your resource dvd and run it when it ask to hit a key before hitting windows test your hard drives. Test them. If it show ok then pull the dvd out and restart windows and go to control panel make sure it small or large icons. Then go to administrative tools. Then to event viewer then custom view and adminsistrative event and click it for critital errors. There will be error and critical errors and warnings. What you will have to do is check the event and task category and it will say something like event id 41 and task category 63. Which in my case was the Old sound drivers. Then research and might even contact Mirocrap (Mirosoft) :) and get how to on it. They will help you.

Almost exclusively, I only get BSOD when I overclock too much. Rarely, for some seemingly random reason.

I had a blue screen when trying to play a blu-ray movie. I restarted and haven't had one since. I typically use mine for Maya, Nuke, AE, some gaming. It's been running like a champ.

Don't ignore the fact that some security/antivirus programs are not completely compatible with Windows 7. This usually is the case when computer randomly blue screen. Than a simple adapter tweak will usually fix it.

I run both the latest stable and beta releases and not a single blue screen yet. Of course, I don't have the 5870.

seeing the actual blue screen error might help us all to diagnose.
