    so i bought and Alienwear mx17 about April 1st of this year.
    nvidia 460m 3d
    i7-2720qm CPU
    8gb ram

    and tbh since i bought it i haven't really used 3d that often so i wanted to know from your personal experiences is it possible to get an upgrade to an mx18 or even mx17 with an amd grfx card

    What do you mean upgrade? Meaning ask Dell to get you a m17x-R3 with ATI or a m18x???

    I know that your 3D 120Hz LCD can't work with an ATI card (many have tried).

    i mean if i couldn't get to upgrade to an mx18 if it would have been possible to change gfx cards to and AMD cause its better for gaming

    since you have 3d version, its not compatible with AMD due to some hardware issues. The only card you can upgrade to at this time is the 580m, which dell wants over $1000 for as an upgrade :eek:
